What’s this all about?
Mix This…With That is dedicated to the art and science of mixing existing foods to create an even greater (hopefully) combined food.
This is not a recipe site. This is the result of having no fear of mixed foods.
Well, really, it’s just a documentation of great achievements in culinary history. Only it involves no 5-star restaurants and fancy chef outfits (unless we’re mixing drinks), and doesn’t even involve a measuring cup ( or tablespoon, or complicated instructions or technical skills).
No, this site is testament to the common man and woman and their ingenuity when it comes to making the most of random items found in the pantry or reviving leftovers for another trip into uncharted culinary waters.
Our work is also a testament to the famished poor soul who only has salsa, peanut butter, ham, and linguini in the refrigerator at 2 in the morning. It’s a tribute to the venturous spirit who eyes a tub of Neapolitan ice cream and a carrot and can only see opportunity. It’s a hosanna to the dude who flies too close to the sun and decides that waffles and refried beans might make a blissful combo at halftime during a college bowl game.
Indeed, this site was founded on the notion that everybody can bring something to the table—no matter how unconventional it may be. We’re here to celebrate that.
In the meantime, look to this space every day, because we’ll be attempting to master the art of the mix—showcasing a world of food mixes that can sometimes be sublime and sometimes, well…a reason to buy stock in Tums.
Happy mixing.
